Underwater Housings: (continued)

Compact housings for point-and-shoot cameras:
As the name implies, these housings are small, and are intended for beginning to mid-level photographers.

Because today's digital cameras have become so sophisticated and feature rich, they are surprisingly good and often yield professional results.

Olympus 8080

These types of housing makes a perfect entry-level system since they are affordable, simple to use, and have a built-in zoom which allows the photographer to change from close-up to wide-angle at a touch of a button.

But since they are designed for the non-professionals, they generally lack the ability to add a full range of accessories that most pros require.

Nonetheless, as you will discover later on, a system like the one pictured above can take magazine-quality pictures.
