Digital Photography:  A Basic Guide

Many film advocates bemoan the growing popularity of digital cameras.  They claim, and with some justification, that technology is replacing quality.

Yet in spite of the warning, the digital revolution charge on. Why? Because digital photography offers so many advantages over film that it's only a matter of time until it replaces film entirely.

The Basic Guide to Digital Photography is by far the longest section, so a table of contents is included to allow the reader to skip to a specific section quickly.

Table of Contents:

1. Basics
2. Image Capture Process
3. Image Compression
4. Optical vs. Digital Zoom
5. How Many Megapixels Do I Need?
6. Shooting in RAW
7. Pros and Cons of Digital

This Photo Guide is designed as a basic primer into photography, not a comprehensive overview.  For those wanting more information, try the Suggested Reading link on the left.
