Brittle Starfish
Ophiothrix sp.

A Brittle Starfish climbs up an orange Rope Sponge at night. Brittle stars are nocturnal creatures, and remain hidden in coral crevices during the day time.

Roatan, Honduras (night)

Sea Facts:

Starfish have the ability to regenerate a lost limb entirely. In fact some starfish can actually regenerate a new individual from an arm alone. Starfish have no hard mouth parts so they extrude their stomach to feed.
